Talked to the Hostpial today

Hi ladies, I posted last week, I think, I was freaking out about the pre-opp appointment and the problem I had with not having one. The nurse called from the hospital and it eased my mind a little more. At least about that, now I'm just getting antsy about the surgery. It's on 2/28 and she now said that if they have to do abdomanal I'll be in the hospital for 2-3 days. So Im preparing for the worst and hopeing for the best.
One thing is at least off of my plate, we're finally moved in. Or at least all of our stuff is crammed into a 1 bedroom apartment. I've been wearing the same jeans now for 3 days. Hopefully I'll be able to find my other ones soon! LOL
Has anyone you know used Shawnee Mission Hospital in Kansas? If so please pm me and tell me how they are, how they food is, and all of that good stuff.
So you ladies who are coming up for surgery soon, you ready? Any last minute things others might be missing?
Oh, I was told by the nurse that I should just ware their night-gowns because of all of the tubes.
Does anyone know how long I'll have a cathadar in? Not looking forward to that. Does anyone know when I should stop intercourse? I want a kind of "last horah" just in case everything is different when I come back from the otherside?
LV you all and thanks for caring!

Talked to the Hostpial today

Hi Brandy! I am about two and a half weeks away from becoming a princess. I did get nervous this past Thursday when I hit the three weeks away mark and I am sure the week before I will be a basket case. I am fine today though. It's normal to be a bit nervous. My doctor is planning on doing a LSH but I was told about the bigger cut in case.I have started some of the shopping and what I have bought is packed.I am going to need wayyyyyy more shopping though before I am ready to be crowned. My pre-op is the Monday before my surgery so I can't ask the last hoorah question until it's too late.I did get a letter from the doctor's office confirming the date,times,pre-op appt., and when to stop taking meds.It says absolutely nothing about any other activities so I plan on taking full advantage of the weekend before if I can.Good luck with your surgery and let us know how you are doing when you can.Karen

Go for it!!

Hi ladies,I had my hyster over a year ago. I did'nt need pain meds at all. ABout the catheter?...mine was taken out shortly after i got back to my room. Now,about that last hoorah?...GO FOR IT...my doc told me thats it was ok. But it will be 6-8 weeks after the surgery before you can resume you're physical activity. So get as much in as you can now...LOL...Good luck to you both and we'll see you on the other side...
