Pain six weeks post op
I had at tah on October 6. The first 2 weeks I had a constant fever, finally 2 weeks post op I was re-admitted with an absess right by my bladder. With iv antibiotics and a drainage tube, it went away and I was able to go home after about 4 1/2 days. I hardly had any pain and was feeling very good, I was cleared to go back to work after 6 weeks, which would be tomorrow. This week though I have started having abdominal pain again, the first day or 2 I thought I was overdoing so I tried to rest more, then I thought it was constiaption/gas but I have bowel movements everyday with no problems and the pain doesn't go away after I do. It hurts when I go from sitting to standing or in bed when I change positions. Is this normal or is it something I should be concerned about? It doesn't hurt constantly and its not bad enough that I really have to take anything for it, its just that I went from almost no pain to this during the 6th week.

Pain six weeks post op
I don't know if it's normal or not, but I have the same thing. I had my tah almost the same day as you. Over the past week I have found I'm having more pains in my belly, sometimes it's an ache and sometimes a sharp pain. I just put it down to the fact that I'm moving around and doing more than I was.
Like you say, it's not incredibly painful, just a bit uncomfortable somtimes. I haven't taken any painkillers for it. I'm just hoping it will go away before too long!

I'm sorry you're experiencing pain now at 6 weeks post-op.
The body is still healing at 6 weeks and it would be a good idea to contact your doctor, especially as you're due to return to work? You'll feel more confident if your doctor isn't concerned and gives you the all clear. If there is something wrong, however, it's better to find out now. It's always best to err on the side of caution.
Will you let us know what happens? Wishing you all the best!

Pain six weeks post op
I am 4 weeks post op and i am having pain on my right side. I had a LAVH and ovaries were taken so its not my ovaries. I called the Dr. today and she told me if pain is still there tomm call back and I'll have to come in. She isn't in tomm but someone will see me. I really don't want someone else to see me but if it still hurts tomm I guess I will call. The pain is not constant but when I try to go from sitting or laying to getting up boy does it hurt. Sometimes standing too long hurts too. Not taking anything for pain but she told me to.She said it could be a pulled muscle which I don't know how I would have done that cuz I have been so good. If not a muscle she said maybe an adhesion. I hope that it is not an adhesion. That will suck big time. Well hopefully all this pain will be gone soon for all of us.........good luck ladies.

Pain six weeks post op
Thank you all for your response. I actually felt a lot better yesterday and today. I started back to work yesterday, my job is not at all strenuous, and I did pretty well, I was a little sore at the end of the day but that's to be expected. I have a dr appt next week and I will mention the pain and I will call if it gets any worse before that.
