TAH sex ...at what week

I am just days from my six weeks I go Monday for my six week appointment just wondering at what week you were released and any advice would be great.... my dear hubby is on countdown I keep telling him he may have to wait a little longer....my recovery has been fairly uneventful but at 6 weeks out I'm not feeling as good as I thought I would I had to UtI that I had to take two rounds of medication to get rid of other than that the only other thing is I woke up with a strange brownish red discharge ....? I haven't had any discharge since I left the hospital at 2 days put so this kind of puzzles me ...

Six weeks is not a magic number where we are all released for sex. I was released at 4 weeks and knew I was not ready. I waited till a bit over six, tried it, found I was still tender inside and waited 2 more weeks. Know that just because a doctor releases you for sex doesn't mean you can't wait longer. As for the brownish red discharge, that could be dissolving stitches. That was one of my concerns, if I was still having discharge, I figured that I wasn't ready for sex which would probably make it worse. Just talk to your doc and explain how you feel. If you get released for sex, don't worry about it. Take your time and do it when you are ready.

My doc recommended no penetration for 8 weeks.

Mine said six weeks but to be honest.....I'm now 18 weeks tomorrow and only now is it starting to get more comfortable

I'm on hold for 12 weeks. I am heading into my 7th week. I will be waiting 12 weeks maybe longer.

All the paperwork I have from the hospital says six weeks, however I do not have my post-op check-up with my Dr until eight weeks so I will be waiting until then to be 'cleared'. In addition, I am still having a slight pale discharge so I think I am probably still healing after a lengthy surgery to remove a lot of endometriosis. I figure, we've waited this long - what's a few more weeks!!!

I had LAVH kept one ovary on 12/4. My doc originally said 4-6 weeks however because of the sutures she used inside she advised 6 weeks because they are sharper sutures that could potentially harm my husband. Scary stuff to hear. Well I'm not always one to follow rules on paper. I go by my gut feeling. My husband and I had intercourse at 4 weeks...no harm to him or myself.
