8 months post hysterectomy: Bloating & Lower Back Pain
Hi Sisters
Been a while since I've posted anything, but do read others. I've a question for a sister who's perhaps the same time as me or even further a long. I had a TAH Dec 6 2013, no complications and healed pretty quick so lady luck there, but 8 months on I find my stomach still very tender, its always swollen and I get terrible lower back pain that radiates around to my tummy and down my left hip and leg. My weight yoyo's although I'm stricked on what goes in my mouth. Weight I can deal with but the swollen and tender belly and back pain i'm stuggling with. My doctor says give it 12-18 months before my body heals completely, there cant be anything wrong as I had a TAH, its just an age related back & stomach pain. I'm 50 by the way he's about 12 or looks it anyway lol. Any advice is welcome

Re: 8 months post hysterectomy: Bloating & Lower Back Pain
It could be a back issues, like sciatica (I have it) which you might want to see an orthopedic doctor for. Another thing it could be is your bowel. They can get persnickety after surgery. Even now, you need to make sure you are going everyday. I notice that when I am constipated, one of my first symptoms is back pain. Some women find that their bowels are a bit more difficult after hysterectomy. I have to make sure I keep mine working smoothly.
