Hysterectomy tomorrow 11/21: Somebody should have warned me

That the day before surgery would be a wreck...
That the entire day would be filled with endless appointments...
That my husband would be a nervous wreck and make my day miserable (it's not like I'm up for holding him together when I'm trying to hold together myself!)...
That my insurance would mess up the day before surgery and I'd be on the phone for 2 hours...
That I would be sick to my stomach and wish I had done it on the fly...
That I would want to cancel and run because of all of the stress.
That I would want to sleep all day.
That I would want to cry my eyes out.

Hopefully you will be able to relax a bit this evening. Soon you will be on the recovery side. Good luck with your surgery and your healing journey

Re: Somebody should have warned me:

Breathe sweetie. You will get through this. For many the day before is nerve wrecking and have many of the same feelings that you are having. You got this. Now try this. I know that it's difficult, but try not to focus on the stuff that has been driving you crazy today. Focus on the better quality of life that lies ahead. Trust that your doctor and the staff will do the job that they are trained to do and will take very good care of you. If you are a believer, put this in God's hands. There's no better hands to be in.

this will all be a distant memory soon. I pray that you have a successful surgery and an even more successful recovery.

Thank you all so much for the reminders. I rested a while and I feel much better mentally! Going to do some light cleaning and try to get some sleep. Tomorrow is the big day, so excited!

Soon you will be on the other side. Relax and breath. You will be fine.
