2 weeks post op and freaking out

It will be two weeks tomorrow since my surgery. Had a "text book recovery": minimal pain, no discharge, sleeping well, etc. Yesterday I started to have pain in the RLQ where the most excruciating pain was before my surgery. Looked at the calendar and sure enough, I'm entering the "Red Zone" which is days 19-22 of my cycle. I kept my left ovary so I was expecting to have the usual PMS symptoms like being tearful and emotional and edgy but now I'm terrified that I did it all for nothing. I haven't told my husband or anyone else yet because I'm so scared that I put everyone through this and it didn't help. Maybe I'm just imagining it? Trying hard to stay positive but I just don't know what I'm going to do if I have to go through this pain every month still........

I had terrible pain down low, couldn't stand up straight even. Went to dr. it was a bladder infection. Maybe you have one too?

I think we are all afraid of the dreaded pms after surgery. Scares me to death. It was really bad for me before. I hope you will feel better soon!

Re: 2 weeks post op and freaking out

I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and have been getting a stabbing pain and a tight pulling sensation in my left side. I was hoping I haven't done anything, but then thought maybe it is part of the healing process. God I hope so.

Re: 2 weeks post op and freaking out

Thanks ladies. Pretty sure it isn't a bladder infection.....feels more like my period cramps starting. Had a lot of stabbing pain last evening in RLQ and then it started to radiate into rectal area. I also have Ulcerative Colitis so I'm a bit concerned about coming out of remission. Last year I had bowel adhesions removed in that area too......... Maybe I'm just over reacting. Trying not to......As I sit here typing, I have pain that is radiating down the front of my right thigh which was part of the pain cycle pre surgery......... Guess it's just a "wait and see" at this point.
Thanks for listening.
