Back to work...am I ready?
Tomorrow is my seven week hysterversary. I started back to work yesterday.
I'm not ready.
I've told everyone that I won't be up to speed for quite a while, but I am still feeling very overwhelmed tonight. Not tired really, just fatigued, I guess.
On top of that one of my incision sites is bothering me. It still has a suture that needs to dissolve but the skin around it is puffy and the area aches.
I feel like a big baby.
I haven't been sleeping well either. I'm afraid if I do anything more than a power nap this afternoon/evening, I simply won't be able to sleep. That will make for a rotten day tomorrow.
I just needed to talk to my sisters who will understand.

Back to work...am I ready?
C,
i totally understand where you are coming from- i went back a week early- and literally an e-mail went out about a project i was working on that said "Robin can do anything"!
Well let's see normally yes i can put on my Wonderwoman suit and i can- however with a swelly belly i can't see to get it over my waistline!
My sleep is totally off- and i was able to obtain this nice horrible bronchitis!- so now i'm on all of the great drugs for that-
Tell your office mates that you will be back to normal soon- however at this point you just aren't quite there- i told my assistant give me a couple of weeks to get through the piles on my desk and i woudl get back in the real world evetually!
Tell'em to get a life and let you live yours handicapped for a few more weeks!
Take care and get some rest!

Back to work...am I ready?
I went back to work yesterday. No one was in a hurry for me to rush back and have problems. My boss also needed at least a week and a half lead in time because of scheduling. Dr said that he wanted me to go back when I was ready and that he knew what I did at work.
Some of what I do is strenuous pails of water cast iton pots etc
No one expected me to cook on the hearth and I did not plan to. I did have a couple of dishes to do and throwing out the water from the pan did not hurt.
Just a few twinges and a little trouble going under the chain barriers. Went out with friends for dinner and gabbed until almost 10 pm. I have had several naps today however. I also have tomorrow off then I am back to work for four days, My bladder had a few spasms not being 30 feet from a bathroom but ok now,
Last week I was more active and knew in myself that I was ready to go back.
and that's how it was yesterday,
warning temp and humidex planning on going to over 100 or 40 C in thigh length socks drawers hoops and petticoats, Visist my village and see how the pioneers coped. where's my fan! Wish I had a mint julep! haha

I thought I was ready
Last week at my six-week check-up, my doctor asked me about work.
I felt great! Last week.
I really thought I was ready.
I work M-F, no days off in between. But I do get the weekends.
I really thought I had made it clear to my supervisor/co-workers that I simply am not going to be myself for quite some time.
The nutty thing is - I work with mostly women! Older women than myself some of whom have been through this!
I hear, "Oh, yes, I remember when I had mine" a lot. And I get little tidbits of advice, "The only thing I could wear for awhile was Spandex pants."
Hey, I'm rolling on the floor laughing at that one. NOT!
