I am allergic to milk, goes right through me....what do you all think...can I drink a glass of milk instead of doing that fleet enema thing? Thanks.

Bowel prep....Drink milk?

If your doctor has ordered a bowel prep you need to follow those orders. I was restricted to a clear liquid diet the day before my surgery, and milk isn't considered a clear liquid.

Any questions about the bowel prep need to be asked of your doctor. If you don't follow his orders, your surgery could be postponed.

I'd ask your doctor. It might not do the complete job the enema would. I don't know though. But call and ask him. :-) can't hurt.

I didn't have to do the bowel prep or have a special diet before surgery, just nothing after midnight the night before - which bit becuase my surgery wasn't until 2 pm!

But I'd call and ask him or his nurse. :-)

Bowel prep....Drink milk?

Thanks. I did talk to someone, wasn't the doctor and asked her..she said she couldn't tell me what to do, but if it was her,, she would drink the milk instead of doing the enema thing.
As for diet, no restrictions, but no food after midnight.

Make sure you've spoken to either the dr. or his nurse (not the receptionist). The best thing is to follow the doctor's orders to insure that your surgery isn't postponed.
