Hello. Your information was helpful to me as well. My surgery is scheduled for June 8th and I'm worried about the pain and recovery time. Im not sleeping well. Im stressed and emotional. My family thinks im being dramatic for worrying so much. Even though im past child bearing years im concerned that I wont be myself after surgery.

Hi!!!! I'm so glad I went early!! She was so kind and so compassionate. She spent an hour talking with me, explaining every aspect of the surgery, she addressed all my fears and concerns!! Gave me a lot of very information. Prescribed Premarin vaginal cream to use twice a week until surgery. She says it helps with tissue repair and will give my internal tissues a real jump on healing. My blood pressure was 185 over 55 when I arrived!!! She got it down to a lower level, still high due to nerves but not off the charts. I wasn't afraid to ask her any questions, we were very frank about sex and intimacy, which is one of my big concerns. She was very adamant about NOT DOING ANYTHING for two full weeks. She said those two weeks will determine how the rest of your recovery will go. If I can help you in ANY way calm your concerns and fears... Please let me know!!! Thank you so very much for checking!!!! I have a big pre op appointment on your day of surgery. I will be thinking of you and wish you the very best possible outcome!!! Please keep in touch!!!

I will. I'm glad it went so well with your doctor. In my experience female doctors have more empathy than male ones because they know how we feel. I'll keep you posted.
