Question about OnQ

I have the OnQ system attached to me until Monday. I am not in terrible pain, but it certainly isn't numbing it at all, kinda feels like a mac truck ran over my stomach area. For those that have used it, what exactly is it supposed to feel like? My DR told me I wouldnt feel anything in my abdomen, that it would be completely numb. I suppose I should call her, but I just wanted to get some input from others who have used it to see if this was common. Thanks!

Question about OnQ

toxicbettie

I don't know anything about 'OnQ', but I've just noticed ((SafeOne)) post on the same subject and she's included a link within her thread. You may want to check it out or ask her about her experience.

In any case, this reply will bump you up to the top of the pile again!

Hope this helps!

Question about OnQ

Hi toxicbettie!

Please do call the doctor on-call about this. SInce you've JUST had surgery it would be good to make sure OnQ is working properly and that everything is coming along according to plan.

Question about OnQ

I had one. Full tummy tuck and abdominal hyst. It lasted 6 days. I too thought it was not working as well as it should. I was dissapointed. HOWEVER when it ran out on day 6 and was removed, holy moly I wished it was still in there. It did not make me numb. I think it made the pain managable though.

Good luck to you.

P.S. in the onq literature I received, it never stated that I would be numb, just have a markedly reduced need for pain management. Which was true.
