2 weeks post hysterectomy and now start bleeding

I bled vaginally for 2 days after my TAH. Now coincidently I should be getting my period and I have started bleeding. Not heavily but in small gushes and when I go to the bathroom. Could this be from moving around more and irritating the cuff stitches? Bladder infection?

Re: 2 weeks post op and now start bleeding

I would call your doc. Increased spotting is pretty normal at two weeks, gushing is not. How much are we talking?

Re: 2 weeks post op and now start bleeding

Some bleeding and spotting is normal. Sometimes it's a sign that you are overdoing things and need to slow down a little. The general rule is if you are soaking a pad an hour then you need to be seen. Try resting a little and see if that helps. If the bleeding increases and is accompanied by pain and or fever, I would call your doctor.
