Two days post hysterectomy: tinted urine

I had davinci/vaginal hysterectomy with Burch urethropexy on Thursday. I'm more sore than in pain so doing pretty well.

My question, I have slightly tinted urine like there is a touch of blood. I'm not really bleeding vaginally (not even using a pad), so I really don't think it's from my vaginal cuff. I'm not having any pain or discomfort with urination.

Normal?

Thank you!!!

This site is so wonderful!

Re: This is normal, right?

Tinges of blood would be normal, but if you have concerns call the dr on call nd ask. Worrying causes a lot of stress, and that can cause issues healing. So better safe than sorry!

It is possible to have a slight tint of blood in your urine. Especially if a folly catheter was used. Those things hurt and when they go in and are taken out, irritation can occur.

However, if you are concerned you should call your doctor. Also monitor the amount and color of the blood.

Re: This is normal, right?

Thanks!! It seems like it's lessened as the day went on.

I had a folly for about 20 hours and its also possible that they took it out and put it back in while in surgery because I think they often do a cystoscopy after urethropexy just to make sure that nothing was nicked and such.
