swelling feet

I had my TAH BSO on 11/5/07 and today I have noticed that my feet and anlkes are swollen. It is very painful to put any wieght on them. Is there a normal occurence or is it something I should get looked into. Thank you, Paula

I would suggest calling your doctor, going to urgent care, ER or at least calling ER. Your ankles and feet can swell for many reasons and a doctor needs to decide if you are okay or not. You can have swollen ankles from fluid retention, reaction to meds, not keeping your feet up or not moving around enough, high blood pressure, blood clot, and more. Because you are only a few days post surgery, my biggest concern would be a blood clot.
