Problems with ovaries not working???

Hello, I am scheduled for TAH on 9/23. I am concerned about the things I have read about ovarian shock after hysterectomy. I had a tubal ligation many years ago. Does this make a difference as to whether you have trouble with your ovaries after surgery??? Or will this make it less likely?? Any help would be appreciated. Also, I am still very very nervous about the surgery!!!!

I'm sorry, I don't know if there are any statistics about whether having a tubal ligation affects whether your ovaries go into shock after a hyst. But one thing to keep in mind is that even if your ovaries do go into shock, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's permanent.

It's perfectly normal to be nervous about having surgery, and since a hysterectomy is major surgery, I'd be worried about you if you weren't somewhat nervous. But, if it gets too bad, please call your doctor - he may be able to prescribe something mild that will help.
