Bleeding 3 weeks post-op!

Hi

I too am 3 weeks post op and having more bleeding than before. It has changed from pink to bright red and it was watery for a couple of days, I didn't think much of it.

I only had uterus removed, still have cervix. I am quite worried about the amount and redness of the blood.

Sorry I'm not much help, hopefully someone else can help out?

Bleeding 3 weeks post-op!

I had some bloody discharge at almost four weeks for about half a day. I went to the Dr. Turns out I popped a stitch in my cuff while straining during a bm. He said I was okay, just to rest and quit straining.

Bleeding 3 weeks post-op!

Yeppers, I have been bleeding since my TAH on the 27th of Aug. I am almost 4 weeks post-op, I called the doctors office today and the nurse said you can bleed up to 6-8 weeks post op! UNLESS you have to change a pad every hour then that is not normal and to be checked. I am not changing but ever 6 hours at times. Mine is bright red and a real PAIN! I told her that I thought the bleeding would be done with by now and she said nope, its normal! Hang in ther unless something changes, boy am I a WORRY WART NOW, I wasn't like this before surgery. Now everything bugs me and I am always checking and calling. Good luck my fellow sisters, We need to take it easy and pamper ourselves.

Bleeding 3 weeks post-op!

HI all, I called doc today, they told me that the bleeding is normal. And to make an appt next week for a check up. I asked if camping is normal to and they told me yes. I mean I really am cramping, bleeding is very lite and pinkish really, but it's been going on a week now. I am in more pain now then I was last week.
Also I am soooooooo tired lately. I got home yesterday and laid down around 4:30 pm and got up at 8pm seen the family briefly, put my daughter to bed, and went back to bed for the night. I thought I was getting sick or something, again Doctor said that is normal to. Not really doing a whole alot, most driven, but let me tell you around 5 pm I'm exhausted. Well I hope all is well w/everyone. laurie

Bleeding 3 weeks post-op!

I started bleeding following my 2 week post-op exam and kept it up until about 8 weeks post op. It started out as spotting and progressively got heavier (requiring a pad) - but as your doctors' have said - I was told "not to worry, it was fine."

It was annoying and literally a pain (I am sensitive to the stupid pads - even unscented, hello - "pad rash!"). I had exams at 2 & 6 weeks, and again at 8 weeks (before I was released to go on vacation out of the country!).

Re: cramping -- I did/still do have some but "linked" it to ovulating, as it seems to happen about 'that time' every month.

Re: being tired - yep, it is normal. Rest when you can, you need it to heal. It can take between 6 months to a year to be totally back to normal from things I have read. It can be easy to overdo it, especially when you start feeling better.
