Re: Help-Is this normal at 3 months post op?
Mrs. Bee,
Just wanted to let you know that we "took the plunge" again yesterday and it was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better. Felt no pain. I think last week when I was already in pain it was not a good idea. Aches and pains the last couple of days seem to be better. Notice most when I do lifting (not even that much) of a lot of bending. Another thing that gets me is I have 2 DS both in basketball and we sit through many games on uncomfortable bleachers. They are uncomfortable to begin with let alone after a hyst. I'm going to buy one of those spectators seats that you can attach to the bleachers. Gee- my kids are going to think I am one of the oldies but at least I will be a bit more comfy.By the way, I am going to check Boston Store for your jeans.
Everyone, have a great day!

Re: Help-Is this normal at 3 months post op?
Hello everyone. Oct1, I did get to the gym. I am proud to say that I did the warm up session of Body Attack at Gold's this morning then did 20 minutes on the spinner. I literally had tears in my eyes and was holding back sobs as I was able to participate in a class
Do you wear an abdominal binder? I still do. I think it helps with my swelling. I only seem to get a small amount of swelling at my incision site and my pelvic area but, it is really hasn't been to bad this far.
I am glad to hear that you had a good experience last night. Yay!! I have a date with hubby tomorow. I hope that 2 weeks is a long enough rest for my insides to get over their previous angriness. They are so tempermental!
Have a good day!

October1...woo-hoo!! So glad to hear the good news! Just needed a little more time, that's all! And good luck with the jeans...I think Levi's makes the same type, but more expensive. Sounds like you're doing great, and it will just keep getting better!

I am proud to say that I have reached a milestone. Today, I wore jeans for the first time - and get this, with underware. Hotdog. It is getting better.

I never wore a binder. I had a LAVH. I thought it was mostly for TAH. Maybe I should have and I would be further along by now---hahaha!

Re: Help-Is this normal at 3 months post op?
Was happy to be feeling "normal" again after the holidays. I thought I had turned a corner. Went on a business trip to a trade show. Walking, standing, and being on was just TOO MUCH! I'm now back on vicodin and searching for a flight home. I'm so frustrated! I feel like I should be able to do resume my life....

Hello KME411, I am so sorry to hear that you had a set back. I so understand what you are going through. I actually had a wonderful date night last night - and felt "normal" for a change. So far I am doing well. I am wondering just what is going to push me over the edge again.
Hang in there. It always passes. You will feel better in a few days.

Re: Help-Is this normal at 3 months post op?
Thanks for your support and encouragement. It brought tears to my eyes! I feel frustrated and alone dealing with this. I came down to Miami to work... keep in mind I was on medical leave for 4 week in December recovering. I just booked my flight home, cuz all I want to do is be in my own bed. that was the easy part. Telling my male boss was another story. Clearly he thinks I'm being a weak and emotional female.

Kim, Sorry you have had such a setback and to not even be at home to deal with it. You are not alone and have come to the right place. We have all had setbacks and grateful to have eachother to talk about it. Don't focus on what your boss thinks. Focus on YOU resting the rest of the weekend.
Let us know how you are feeling.

Re: Help-Is this normal at 3 months post op?
Ladies, sounds like some are celebrating a few victories here lately. Hys44-ROCK ON! Glad date night went well and you are feeling good today. What a relief.
I am celebrating my own victory....yesterday I spent the day taking down holiday decorations and the x-mas tree. Yes, I know it was about time. So anyways, I did not have hyst pain yesterday....ALL DAY! Can you believe it? Today I was doing well until I vaccumed. I have only vaccumed a few times since surgery (I bribe DS's). We have long, thick carpeting in the family room and we have a DYSON which basically suctions to the floor so it is much harder to vaccum. I am not in pain just discomfort. I just find it amazing at all of the muscles you use to vaccum. So now i am celebrating my victories today. Hope you have a great weekend!
