Walking and breathing...

I had my hyst 4 weeks ago and while I had not discovered this site I had read tons of material. So I knew you needed to get up and walk ASAP and do the deep breathing exercises. I had my hyst in a wonderful women's center where my daughter has had 2 babies and gotten awesome care. Wierd thing was not ONE nurse ever told me to get up or offered to help me get up. They showed me the breathing thing when I was out of recovery 2 minutes and on morphine and could not remember what they said. Not one nurse asked me if I was using it. They brought me full meal trays from the first meal and I had to beg for broth and crackers. MORAL BEING.....it is your health and recovery. I knew enought to get my butt out of bed and walk and walk and do the breathing exercises. So, if you end up with a staff like mine, take action and do what is right for you. It will pay in the end! (a tip...time your walks for about 30 min after your pain meds and no, your insides are NOT going to fall out so stand up striaght!) Good luck all of you...if really is not so bad!
