Yeast Infection Question

I saw my Doctor Thursday and he prescribed me one dose of Diflucan. I took it and had some relief from my symptoms. Today is Saturday and I'm still itchy down there. I'm eating yogurt like it's going out of style and taking AZO probiotic. My doctor's answering service informed me that he's not on call this weekend, another dr. is, and he won't prescribe meds to anyone that's not his patient. Should I go to the drug store and grab some monistat? I'm wondering if it's safe to use the one dose monistat or if it will be "too much" for my insides yet. I just want some relief and refuse to not do anything about it until Monday when my doctor is back in the office.

Re: Yeast Infection Question

I honestly don't know if it would be ok or not, but you might try going to the ER if your unsure. I think a cream for external use would probably be ok, but use caution. Hope you are feeling better soon. Good luck!

You may also want to as the pharmacist. They may be able to provide some recommendations until you can get to your dr.
