Home Again, Home Again!!
Well, I am finally getting to post a message. Had surgery on 3-21 and got home on 3-24. Things went very well. I was in alot pain after surgery mostly because I am allergic to coedine, so no morphine. Took awhile to find the right pain meds to work for me. And I don't know about anyone else, but how many of you heard that you need to get up and walk to get rid of the gas, but had to learn the hard way. That would be me. The gas pain was terrible until a very nice (ha ha) nurse insisted I get my butt out of bed and walk. By the time I left the hopsital, I was thanking her for continually nagging on me. I was pretty sore the first few days and very tired, but today I feel pretty good. Just experiecing some headaches. My doctor was very impressed at how well informed I was thanks to this web site. Best of Luck to the rest of you LIW, you will all do fine. I made it, so will you!!

Home Again, Home Again!!
Welcome home Stacy. Glad you are doing well.
Ouch, sorry about those gas pains. Yes, most of us had Nurse Ratchit in the first day to make us walk whether we liked it or not.
But, it really does help. I always felt so much better after the walk too.
Hope you're getting lot's of and remember
Keep us posted.

It's weird -- my nurses kept telling me to stay in bed for the first 24 hours, even though I was rarin' to go! I had to push to get them to let me get up. They told me they'd have me walk around the next day, but after reading everything here, I didn't want to wait! I'm glad I didn't; I didn't have any gas pains.
Do most nurses push you to get up ASAP, or to take it easy for the first night and then get up?
Melissa
