Total abdominal hysterectomy Dec. 11: What to wear

I wore a giant t-shirt and adjustable yoga pants that I could bring up to my chest like Urkel, lol. You won't want a lot of pressure on your incision. I also brought large panties. I didn't wear a bra. A nice big sweatshirt or jacket will be fine.

I agree--anything comfy and warm will be perfect. As someone who works at a hospital, I have seen people wear all sorts of things, from flat-out jammies to fancy dresses and makeup, and I know people aren't judged on what they wear. I wore a loose cotton dress and leggings with slip-on sneakers to the surgery and brought yoga pants/T shirt and a change of socks/undies, which I never wore.
Translation: It Doesn't Matter! Whatever makes you comfortable.

I wore fleece drawstring pajama bottoms and a light sweater. I also wore granny panties too and from the hospital. I wore a bra too, but only because I feel weird going outside (even for a few min) without one.
Wear whatever is comfortable for you, just remember, you may have some swelly belly afterwards, so it's a good idea not to wear anything tight.

And DON'T forget your tummy pillow for the car ride home.

I told DH to bring it and he forgot. I had to hold onto my housecoat for the bumps.. Ouch..

I'm having mine on the same day!! I'm planning on taking some stretchy pants and a t-shirt to leave the hospital in :0)
