?? about bowel prep....

My DR announced yesterday that I had to start drinking Magnesium Citrate after dinner the night before surgery. He actually told me to have a wonderful dinner! I heard him say "two small bottles of Mag. Citrate. I purchased two bottles from Walmart today... they are 10 oz each! Does this sound right? The bottle says adults take up to 1/2 bottle. He wants me to do two! I will call office tomorrow to confirm but wanted other input! I need to know If I must "mentally prepare!" Thanks!

1/2 bottle is the dose if you are using it as an ordinary laxative. I was told to take two bottles also. It really wasn't that bad (sooo much better than the charming Go-lytely I had to do for another procedure). But it DOES work, so stay near a bathroom. I think that I was also told to spread out the two bottles. They taste a bit better cold.

Do keep drinking clear liquids while/after using them up until the time they tell you to stop (midnight usually). You want to stay hydrated.
