Weird Feeling Down Yonder
I am 7.5wks post op ... total vag hyst, w/ bladder sling .... removed cervix, kept ovaries. I'm just curious if anyone has the same feeling I have. I keep feeling like something is stuck in my vagina when I over do it. Kind of like the feeling when a tampon is starting to fall out. Sorry to be so graphic but I don't know how else to explain it. As far as my incisions are concerned, they don't hurt at all. But that feeling I get down yonder is uncomfortable and I'm guessing it's related to the bladder sling. I went in for my 6wk post op and the doc said it was probably swelling that I was feeling, but I'm curious how long this lasts? The past 2 days it has been much better, but then tonight I moved something in my sons room and poof there it was again. Unfortunately when it happens, I have to take a vicoprofin just to calm the feeling down. I go back on Tuesday ... hopefully this time my stitches will be out, but I haven't noticed any. I've had multiple abdominal surgeris, so maybe I heal slower than others. Just would like this not so comfortable feeling to vanish so I can get back to all that I have to do without worrying that I"m causing any harm and wondering if anyone else feels this weird feeling?

Re: Weird Feeling Down Yonder
I'm sorry to hear that you are having this and that your doctor isn't helping you find any answers. On my discharge papers it says to call the doctor if it feels like something is stuck in my vagina. Or if it feels "full". I hope it stops or you find a way to reduce it. (((( ))))

Re: Weird Feeling Down Yonder
My doctor is great actually. He told me he believed it was swelling feeling, but I might not have explained it well enough. I didn't get any discharge instructions that said that, but I haven't called to ask them either. I go back tomorrow for another post op so I'll get answers then. It definitely is a "stuck" or "full" feeling. I didn't know how to explain it. Wonder what it is. I would think if it was the bladder sling he would have noticed that last appt.

Re: Weird Feeling Down Yonder
This sounds just like the swelling that I would have when I overdid it. I'd get swellybelly in my pelvic/abdominal region, and I'd also get vaginal swelling. It felt so odd, but it made sense when I remembered how much had been done in the area.
I hope you feel better, and remember to and take it easy. You still have lots of healing to do!

Re: Weird Feeling Down Yonder
I had the same thing and still (very rarely) get it if I really do too much. I remember calling the Dr. office at about 1 week post op & I said "It feels like there is a tampon in there". The nurse sounded like she thought I was crazy. Then I posted here and sure enough several post op ladies confirmed my feeling. They all sd it was vaginal swelling. It all makes sense to me down the road of recovery. Hope this helps. By the way, my Dr. said I am a slow healer

Re: Weird Feeling Down Yonder
Yes, I described it the same way -- like there was a tampon stuck! Apparently, it's just part of healing. Hopefully, it all resolves soon, but if it continues to really be a problem, I'd call the doc. Good luck!
