Re: Oh Whoe is me!

obviously this is not medical advice, but I would think that the vomiting action might make your tummy muscles hurt. BUT then the reflux can't be pleasant either.

Hope you feel better soon.

Re: Oh Whoe is me!

I threw up ONE DAY post-op because the idiots in the hospital gave me red jello the morning I was allowed to get up the first time....red jello irritates your stomach. Yes it hurts, but I just held my belly and I didn't do any damage. Unpleasant...but just try to support yourself the best you can.

Re: Oh Whoe is me!

Nausea meds won't do anything for the reflux. My reflux got really bad after surgery. I have been taking Zantac at least once a day since then. It has gotten better every day.

I would ask your doc if you can take something like Zantac or at least Tums while also taking your nausea meds.

Re: Oh Whoe is me!

I had nausea and vomiting(actually more like dry heaves because I could eat anything due to the intense nausea) for 8 days after my surgery. I was given nausea meds in the hosp. and took it at home but it never did help. Finally I figured out that it was the narcotics and after getting it out of my system the N&V went away.It hurts A LOT but I survived.
Hope you feel better soon!

Re: Oh Whoe is me!

I had nausea for the entire 1st week and I also suffer from acid reflux. I am on Nexium 40 mg and missed a few days but then started right up again.
I tried to figure out if the nausea was from the Percosets or the antibiotics I was on. In the end, I honestly believe it was from neither ,and it was caused but the amount of pain I was in. I wasn't taking 2 Percosets every 4 hours like the bottle said, I would only take 1 or 2 a day.
