Can anyone tell me

What kind of sanitary products I could expect to need after a Vaginal Hysterectomy? I want to be prepared and not have to send hubby out for supplies. Thanks in advance!!

You'll probably get all kinds of answers on this topic, but I used a few regular pads in the hospital (they provided them) a couple at home, and then switched to light days With the exception of pulling a stitch and spotting once, I really haven't used anything after the 1st couple of days!! Yeah one less thing for the shoppin' list!

I had bought a bag of ulta thin pads for night time not knowing whether how heavy I would bleed.

I ended up giving these to my friend. I only spotted so only needed panty liners.

My doctor told my that I was not to use tampons. (Nothing in the vagina for 6 weeks.) I had a TVH.

My doctor said that I bled less than normal in the OR. My operation was text book-pretty uneventful. Thank goodness.

Hi,
I had an LAVH on 2/22/05 and have been using panty liners since getting home from the hospital (almost four weeks ago). I didn't expect to need supplies this long so I did have to send dh out for supplies.
Haven't had any bleeding or discharge that a panty liner couldn't handle.
