Re: Anyone else DREADING going back to work?

I'm 2 weeks post LAVH RSO and MONARC. I'm a labor and delivery nurse and I'm going back to work in a week. I'm excited and terrified! The hours are long and the work is hard. Hopefully I can ease back into things. I feel fantastic so far, and I want to keep it that way. The best thing is that I have great co-workers and of course my Dr. is readily available, so hi ** hi ** it's off to work I go on Dec. 2nd!

Re: Anyone else DREADING going back to work?

I had surgery on 11/13/2009, and actually don't go back to work until 1/4/2010 and I am dreading going back already just thinking about it. My job is stressful, and one of my closest's friends, who is actually my boss is no longer a friend. I hate it thinking about it. There was definitely a misunderstanding earlier this year, and she refuses to talk about it after numerous attempts. She acts as if I don't exist. Sad and crazy. Surprisingly she called me on 11/21/2009 and left a message, but sounded nervous, and was very cautious of what she said. Prayerfully we can resolve the situation prior to me going back to work.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all the Wonderful Hystersisters!!

Oh, I am sooooo dreading the return to work. Especially after celebrating Thanksgiving with family. Just taking my time to cook a ham and 2 simple casseroles literally wiped me out yesterday. My LAVH was on 10-2-09 and my next post op is 11/30!!! I have a feeling doc may release me to return to work one day that week or possibly the following Monday. He refuses to "give me an idea" of when he "thinks" he might release me. He is a very smart man... he knows how some people are at my workplace.

I'm a high school teacher, 43 y/o, and this was my first surgery EVER. There were a few complications and my 1-2 hour procedure turned into a SIX hour ordeal.

I LOVE my kiddos - but I am so tired all the time and once I set foot back in that door - I doubt I'll have very much sympathy from the administration at the school level. 2 of them have ALREADY tried to "con" me into coming in to "just take care of a few little things.... not to teach.... just a few hours a couple of days... nothing major". Yeah right. Aye Aye Captain. No way!

So I am very much dreading the return. Especially with Christmas right around the corner... but I guess I need to be positive and think of that in terms of we won't be at school the full month of December. I think the last day before we begin the Christmas Break is Dec. 17th. Then I'll have until January 4th or 5th or 6th until we gear back up again.

But, I kid you not. Just going to the store and gathering up a few things in advance; then cooking the ham and 2 very easy casseroles.... then getting up and going to hubby's mom's house yesterday..... eating and spending time with my favorite sister-in-law .... flipping through all the sale papers for Black Friday.... but then as the afternoon progressed.... I started hurting in places I didn't know I had muscles there.... whew.... coming back home yesterday evening and my parents stopping by on their way home (there was a time conflict when MY family got together at my cousin's house and the time my DH family got together at his mom's house)....I had a headache like I haven't had in a LONG time!! And I felt terribly emotional!! Agggh! (I kept my tubes and ovaries....but had a small cyst removed from right ovary)....

Went to bed and fell asleep pretty quick (Imagine that!).... but when I woke up around 7 a.m. and turned over in the bed..... I felt like I had been run over by a freight train and a Mack truck..BOTH loaded with a ton of bricks!!

And I'm talking everywhere HURT HURT HURT! My legs, my feet, MY TOES!, my neck my entire back, my arms, MY FINGERS!!, my throat!!, my arms, my shoulders, my chest bone hurts!!, my elbow joints, and of course my abdomen. ouch...

WHAT IN THE WORLD?? :-(

And I was soooooooooo careful these past few days. No unusual straining or lifting of heavy items.... resting in between cooking...

I mean, I am hurting so bad - I want DH to call the doc for a refill of Lortab!!

Did anybody else overdo it yesterday on Thanksgiving???? Waaaah!

Do you see why I am honestly and truly DREADING the return to work?? Oh my.... whew!
