No Ovaries etc., Now I Have Cysts
Haven't been on this board for awhile, but I'm sure glad that it is here. I have a question:
I have been getting CT's and Ultrasounds every 3-4 months since my surgery in January 2005 (Granulosa Cell Tumour- Everything taken out). Tests showed clear until last fall, when an Ultrasound showed a cyst. Very small, and they said it was harmless. Then the next time it had grown and it had a friend. Now there are two. The next time they had both grown. Then they did a CT but I guess it doesn't show them as well as the Ultrasound does. So I just had another Ultrasound today. The Radiologist didn't have the comparison there as it was done in a different hospital. But he told me that they are small. The technician spent a long time on it, then she brought in the radiologist who also spent a long time on it. He said they thought they saw some septis in one of them, but they weren't sure. I started looking that up on the Net, but I couldn't find anything on cysts after surgery. There is stuff about ovarian cysts, but I don't have ovaries anymore.
What it does say scares me. Things like "rupturing" and "peritonitis", etc.
So does anyone know that this is all about? I am worried sick about a recurrance of course.
If there is something on this topic in this forum, please send me the link. Thanks

No Ovaries etc., Now I Have Cysts
Hi,
I am sorry you are still having some problems. Have you asked your doctor if you possibly have ovarian remnant syndrome, where sometimes very tiny piece of ovary could have been left?
You can do a Search on ovarian remnant and see what others have to say.
I hope you get some answers and treatment soon.
