Meltdown....

So, I ventured out of the house for the first time since my surgery on the 21st. I thought a change of scenery would do me some good. I went to the grocery store to just get a few things for dinner. I did not get much, but just wanted to join the real world again.

By the time I got to the front door of the store, I felt like I had already run a marathon. I walked around the store and picked up my couple of things and didn't think I would make it to my car.

Once I did make it, I sat in my car and had a good long cry. I know it takes time and I have to give my body time to heal, but it is so frustrating not being able to do the simplest of tasks. I came home, took a pain pill and a nap. I am so glad that I have another week before I have to go back to work!

Hang in there ladies! Things will get better with time!

Re: Meltdown....

The same thing happened to me the first time I ventured out. I went to get groceries with my hubby and had to take a seat half way through the store to rest. I went to Target today, and thanks to the severe wind we are having in the area, a card I purchased blew out of my bag. I actually chased it down! I never would have guessed I'd be able to do that a few weeks ago when elderly people with walkers were zipping by me me in the store. Things really do get better with time!

Re: Meltdown....

I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and I thought I would venture out with my husband to the grocery store for a few things today. I was in the store about 10 minutes and I almost passed out in the soup aisle. I am normally a very energetic person and that fact that I am getting around as if I am 90 is depressing. I know it will get better with time....I just get impatient.
