Normal pain or have I hurt myself??

I am 6 weeks Post-Op from a TAH.....got the scars to prove it......at 3 weeks I was beginning to feel so much better, off of pain meds, but now i have this chronic stabbing/burning/tearing sensation on my left side in-between my incision and left pelvic bone. The pain has gradually gotten worse this week. I don't remember doing anything strenuous, but it feels and looks like my left side is bulging out. I do not have a fever. It is possible that at 6 weeks I could have pulled stitches loose? Could this be a hernia?

I'd call your doctor!

That definitely doesn't sound right to me. I think you probably have a hernia. At this point, your stitches should have healed internally. The bulge sounds very much like a hernia.

I think the best thing to do is to call your doctor. He/she will probably want to see you and examine the area.

Take care!
