gotta vent :(

I am seven weeks post op lavh kept both ovaries. I'm hot one minute and cold the next. I am just as happy as can be one minute and then really mad the next. To top it off I got my bills for hospital and doctors. Almost $11k before insurance. I owe $3000 out of pocket which is about what I expected. I am on zoloft for hormone control. I almost wonder now if this was all even worth it. *sigh*

Re: gotta vent :(

I hear you sister! I had my two week checkup (a couple of days early) and was sweating one minute and freezing the next. I spend two hours with EOBs today trying to figure 20 of them out. I just keep reminding myself how bad it was before the surgery with a period that lasted 10 months. It will be worth it. Hang in there!

Wow, I'm sorry to hear you're left owing so much on your surgery. That is tough and understandable that you're second guessing a little bit.

I want to encourage you not to lose heart. I kept my ovaries too and it took some time for them to adjust and get back to doing what I needed them to do. Seven weeks is still early for that so don't get too discouraged. Keep in mind that an antidepressant can be somewhat helpful when hormones are fluctuating, but they aren't a hormone replacement and as such are limited in what they can do to help. If this continues on you should talk to your dr about it and maybe have your hormone levels tested to see what's happening with them. Some women with ovaries have a harder time than others so don't hesitate to ask about it. In another month you may find your ovaries have forgiven you for upsetting their world and get you feeling good again I hope so.
in there. I hope you'll be feeling better soon.
