19 days post-op-having cravings

Hi sisters,

Well I am 19 days post-op. I got to my 1st post-op dr. appointment thursday. I have so many questions and concerns regarding what is going on with me. I am still having some night sweats and hot flashes, I am running a temperature of 99-100 each day. I have insomnia and major exhaustion. I have cut down on the pain pills to about 2-3 a day. I am still having a lot of pain in my abdominal area. This pain really takes over my body when I lay down for bed and also when I am walking around. My insicion is leaking a little not much. I have been going pee like every 10 minutes. I feel like when I am done I could go again. I am having some weird urinating issues since surgery.

So my cravings.....I am still eating crushed ice, I eat ice all day and some through out the night I have not been told my iron was too low during pre-op or in the hospital.
My recent craving or weird habit is lathering myself all over in baby powder, I have no desire to eat it I just want to bath in it and lay down and make powder angels. I just want it all over me. I have never really liked powder. But as you can see this has changed. I feel weird.

I am still resting and not doing a lot these days. No mood swings or crying lately. I am still really indecisive about things and I don't really care if I do anything like read or play games. I have lost interest in doing everything. Sleep is good and tv and that is about it. I have been doing some light house cleaning and organizing with some laundry but that is it. I feel guilty for not doing anything.

Any thoughts?

Re: 19 days post-op-having cravings

I had that kind of temperature when I took the pain meds. As soon as I stopped, my temperature returned to normal. That is also when I started wanting entertainment. Don't know if this is really similar but I found that I developed new habits/routines, though they were temporary and fell by the wayside as I returned to my normal activities. Examples: I drank juice every morning and lunch for 2 weeks. Then weened off the juice I am only a little ahead of you but I am seeing that 1-2 weeks make a difference in what my focus is on/ what I am experiencing. My hormones have definitely taken a while to "settle in". Hopefully more people will come with feedback for you.
