16 days post hysterectomy - sleeping on my side

I am 16 days from my surgery. I can't sleep all night on my back. I am worried that I may be hurting myself by sleeping on my side. I have looked on this site but can't see any forums or blogs about sleep positions. Can you direct me to those conversations?
Thanks

Re: sleeping on my side

I have been sleeping on my side since a few days after surgery. I just support my belly with a small pillow. Give it a try!

Slept on my side first night in the hospital. Just put a pillow under my tummy for support.

Re: 16 days post hysterectomy - sleeping on my side

I was sleeping on half on my side right after the surgery and then about a week later I was finally able to sleep on my left side. For some reason I can't sleep on my right side anymore.

16 days post hysterectomy - sleeping on my side

I sleep on my side and have almost since I returned from the hospital. I bind my tummy with ace bandage and a cloth soft diaper against my skin. I learned about using a binder from this site. The binder I bought from this site was a little to stiff.

Re: 16 days post hysterectomy - sleeping on my side

Use lots of pillows on both sides and place a pillow between your knees if you can. Also if you can use the belly binder the hospital may have provided. These were all successful for me to finally sleep on my side while recovering.
