4 weeks post hysterectomy and still achy and burning

I am in my 4th week. I still feel achy and have a constant burning/hurting sensation. I get shooting pains when I sit down. My bladder is still not happy and is having spasms or aching. Is this all par for the course at week 4? It is so hard to tell when there are so many stories of people out shopping and doing great at Day 2!! I am still walking at the pace of an old granny and feel like I'm not keeping up with the recovery times I read about.

Re: 4 weeks post hysterectomy and still achy and burning

Join the club I still have aching and burning and I am 4 weeks today. I also still get tired pretty quick. I have become tolerant to my pain meds so they don't work no more so I am taking 600mg ibuprofen and it don't really help either. I go back to the doc on Nov 10th I am hoping either I feel better or he can put me on different meds.

Re: 4 weeks post hysterectomy and still achy and burning

It's really normal. My Dr. said not to even expect to feel normal until week 6 and even then there will still be twinges while it continues to heal.

The other sisters just got lucky or have a very high pain tolerance. I'm heading into my 6th week and each day gets a little bit better and then I'll have a couple bad hours (which are still much improved compared to last week's "bad".)

Today's probably been my best so far.

Hang in there!
