TAH Monday 23

Surgery was 3 hours---admitted at 10. Worst was when I woke up in terrible pain in recovery room and had to wait a long time for pain killers. The Worst was when person in recovery room put up my bed and he did it so fast and it hurt like you know what. He did it twice. I got out yesterday (Wed) around 1 and felt like I was being pushed from the nest. I ate something on Tuesday but everything was so darn sweet and I really felt like throwing up. They woke me from a sound sleep at 6 on Wed. morning to let me know I could go home. Was not hungry for breakfast but tried to eat a couple of bites of scambled eggs. Awful. They kept giving me stuff for nausea until I got out.

My husband is doing great in helping me but I am walking and getting around and I can type on the computer.

I do want to thank you for the support and the e-card Monday morning. That was so nice of you. I didn't tell any of our family or my daughter. We have no friends and our neighbors are the pits so no need to let them know anything. We don't attend church so no support in that direction.

They did find cancer cells and I will know next Friday, Dec. 4 what my options are. And yes, I will be posting on the Cancer forum. I had cancer in both the uterus and the ovaries but they don't know what came first and options depend on if cancer has spread.

But all in all, I am feeling much better and doing well.

aw sorry to hear about your diagnosis! I am waiting on my biopsy results but they said they didnt find anything just by looking! I had mine last Friday and I will reitterate what everyone has said, you don't think it at the time but everyday does get a little better! When I read you didn't tell your family, I was like yay, someone else besides me! I didn't tell my mother that I was having it and the only reason my daughter knows is that she lives with me, if not I would be all alone, which I couldn't imagine having nobody! I have found these boards very helpful just knowing that we can all relate to each other! hope you have a nice thanksgiving (HUGS)

Thanks so much for the support I guess things could be worse. There is always someone that has worse conditions. My gyn/onc seems quite confident we can nip this in the bud. I have really long hair even though I am in my 50's. No gray but I guess that will be the end of that if I go into chemo.

The worst part is I have a bunch of educational snakes and snakes that have been hurt that need attending. They are located on the second story but my husband has been cleaning cages and taking care of them. I spend the day before surgery, feeding all of them so it kept my mind off what was coming. If it wasn't for the cancer, I would kicking up my heels.

And it is nice to know that you didn't tell anyone either about the hysterectomy. I just can't imagine anyone knowing. If my husband didn't need to know, I would have kept it a secret but we had to drive 2 hours to get to hospital--he stayed in motel for 2 nites.

But the experience, so far has not been that bad. It is like childbirth---one forgets the pain and the whole episode becomes more faded as time goes by.
