went to 7wk check and got nitrate on scar tissue?

ok Dr never told me he took cervix, no biggie for me but it would have been nice to know. went in for 7 wk today it was the first vag. exam since surgery, he said I have scar tissue and put the nitrate on it. Then said ok for everything I might sting for a bit and see ya in a year. OK what about sex? Is it ok since he put that nitrate on today, DH has been waiting 7wks need to let him know, and if DR needed to put nitrate on once how will I know if it needs it again if I don't see him in a year? I had no symptoms even guessing I needed nitrate in the first place. Any comments for me?

WHENEVER A WOMEN HAS A VAGINAL HYSTERECTOMY THE CERVIX
IS THE FIRST TO GO BECAUSE THE DR. CUTS FROM THE CERVIX UP.
THERE WOULD BE NO WAY TO GET TO THE UTERUS WITH THE CERVIX ATTACHED TO IT ANY OTHER WAY. WITH THE ABDOMINAL HYSTERECTOMY THE CERVIX CAN STAY. I HAD A TVH ON 02-23-05 AND I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER - I AM SO GLAD I HAD THIS DONE.

AS FOR SEX WITH HUBBY - GIVE IT A COUPLE OF DAYS - AND CALL THE DOCTOR TO MAKE SURE. I WAITED FOR 7 WEEKS TO HAVE SEX WITH MY DH TO MAKE SURE I WAS COMPLETELY HEALED.

Hi. I had nitrate done yesterday which was Wed. and the dr told me no sex until after Monday. I don't know if it would be the same for you or not. I also have to go back in 4 weeks for a check up. I would call and check on the sex and another appointment. Good luck.

went to 7wk check and got nitrate on scar tissue?

I had to have silver nitrate after my 1-week check-up. The next day I had a gray discharge. Got worried & called nurse. She told me it was from the silver nitrate doc used to seal my cervix. I go back again next week for 5 1/2 week check-up so I'm curious to see if he'll have to use the nitrate again. I'm playing it safe & no sex for 12 weeks. I've come this far & don't want to risk infection. I've heard it takes a long time for internal stitches to heal.

Yes, it would have been nice to be told that I'd have the junky, jelly, gray stuff coming out!!! It lasted 3 days.

My doctor told me no sex for 2 weeks. I did some research from doctors and they said no sex for 3 weeks. I've read here that some doctors have said to wait one week. Give your doctor's office a call and find out what's best for you. We're all different and have granulation at different stages too.
Best regards,
Maralyn
