Recliner or no?

I have the option of hiring a "lift-assist" recliner. I live in Perth Australia - having a very hot summer and with a history of back pain, I thought it seemed like a good idea ... useful or overkill? Thanks in anticipation ...

Re: Recliner or no?

nachojack -

I had an electric lift recliner chair and I loved it. I slept in it for several days and it just made the whole up and down and worrying about pulling something a moot point.

Re: Recliner or no?

I think that sounds like a great idea! It wouldn't be overkill, especially for the first two weeks at home. I would have loved it. I know when I was still in the hospital I was really wishing I could take the bed home with me !

Good luck with your surgery. I am six weeks post-op and doing well. Still tired and emotional but physically healing well.

Re: Recliner or no?

Not a good idea, an absolute necessity, after TAH lived in mine for 3 weeks you have to get it.

Re: Recliner or no?

Sounds like a great idea to me.

I always sleep in my rocker/recliner when I am sick with a bad cold to relieve my coughing. But, after my surgery I won't be able to push the foot rest down. I'll be at hubby's mercy to come and push it down for me!!!! So, if you can get an automatic one, that is fantastic!!! Go for it!!
