Could be a bit of an infection that is working its way out - which is a good thing... when do you get your staples out? If you get a fever or new pains - give the doc a call and see what they say... other than that it is just part of the healing process...

Hugs!

clear yellow discharge "normal"

Honeyhunt,
Small amounts of clear yellowish discharge that seems to "crust" around staples is normal. It is just he incision site "weeping a bit". It is a normal healing process. Your staples should only be in for a maximum of 7 days. If your incision site becomes reddened, enlarged, hot to touch or creamy or foul smelling discharge comes from incision it can be a sign of infection. ( then you should see Dr asap)I suspect you are only a couple to a few days post op, put your feet up, drink plenty of water, and relax. Soon you will be feeling wonderful.

Normal drainage has three stages...sanguinous(bloody) right after the surgery...serosanguinous...less bloody...and serous...yellowish fluid...
If you have no other signs of infection...sounds okay......
