Cleared For Everything!!!!!

Ok all first hello everyone.
I just wanted to let everyone know how happy I am I was cleared to return to normal activity even Sex!! Yeepee Well thats what I thought, after the doctors me and my dh came home and tried to have sex. Yes it hurt but wasnt really really bad I did make him stop it was more uncomfortable than painfull. i hope things get better. our sex life was great before the surgery . So we went swimming . Which was allsome. The doc told me that I can shave where my scar is I am alittle scared to do so but I hate this hair crap. LOL . Did anyone else have this problem when they were released.

Cleared For Everything!!!!!

Congratulations, sister!

The memories of my first post-op sexual encounter are fading.... but I do remember I was awfully nervous. It was just "OK", but things improved with time.

My scar was on my abdomen, so I didn't have any issues about shaving around it. Hopefully another (((sister))) will come along who can give you some additional insight on this matter.

I wish you continued good healing.

Cleared For Everything!!!!!

Hi Jules30,
I think it's very normal for many to have discomfort the first time. I know I did, but each time it got better. At six weeks you're very early still, that's usually the minimun healing time allowed. I think nervousness plays a part too in how your body responds and how comfortable it is for you too. Don't be discouraged. It just takes time for everything to complete the healing process and for all the tenderness and soreness to clear up. If it does continue I would call the dr and ask about it,just to make sure there isn't something else wrong.
You might want to look over the Post Op Sex Checkpoint to see if there is information there that might be helpful.

Congrats! I don't have advice about shaving but share your frustrations as the hair is growing back around the bottom of my vertical incision. If you find out anything, please share your insights.

OK well I shaved my incision. I thought it was going to be the worst but it didnt hurt at all. See I had a binkni cut that is soooooooo low that i had lots of hair covering it. when my dh came home from work. I ripped my pants down and he was like thats what Im talking about now my baby is back all I could do was laugh all I wanted to do was show him that I shaved not to give him the go ahead. LOL

Cleared For Everything!!!!!

I just got cleared for everything!!!!Yah hoo!!! Had to delay the 1st time sex thing cuz I had a hair dressing appointment. Go back to work at a new job tomorrow. I shave my entire pubic region. No problems, just part of maintenance. It is just cleaner for me, and I am in the water a lot. The DH likes it that way also. I talked to the PA who did my exam today about Hyster Sisters and she was excited said she would look at it. I am going to fax them a flyer now. Thanks for all you do, everyone. This is a great place to heal. Heal well everyone.
