Post Op 3 wks & 2 days

Hi Everyone:

If you read my other posts I had a Supercervical partial hysto on Aug. 11th. About 2 wks into my recovery I experience a pulling/ripping pain on my left side. Spoke with my surgeon and visited him and he indicated that everything was fine. I requested an MRI and he refused because stating "he didn't want to waste the healthcare dollars" (I totally appauled). However he did write a script for a UltraSound.

I received the results yesterday and I was correct I know have a complex ovarain cyst on my left ovary! I'm grateful that I listened to my body and diligently fought to have a test done.

Its unfortuante that my doctor felt as though saving health care dollars was more important than finding out what this was really going on!

Now I have to deal with this issue and resolve it. It entails another complex surgery. Or in some cases it goes away on its own....if untreated it can turn into ovarian cancer.

Also, its caused by not having enough insulin (I am diabetic type 2) and hormonal imbalance which was brought on my my right ovary being removed and the stress before during & after surgery which has my glucose #'s out of wack.

Ladies, if anyone has any type of pain and your doctor is not listening to you...listen to body and remain diligent and find out the reason for the pain....it just may save your life!

FYI...if your doctor won't write you a script go to your nearest emergency room and they will do the necessary tests!!!
