Uncertain if this is normal or if I need to be concern.

Hi ladies!!
Well it's been 7 months since I had a TAH and i'm still having some issues and not sure if i'm alone with this. It seems that every month right around the time I would have normally had my period I get sharp pains and the area above my incision swells and is very tender. Is this scar tissue or the muscles still healing?? I would have thought by now things should be feeling some what normal . Thanks!! This site has always been such a blessing!

Re: Uncertain if this is normal or if I need to be concern.

Hi Josiecat39

I'm post surgery only 8 wks. but I am having something similar happening. Not sure if its the same tho. the week after surgery, I started noticing a "different" pain really low in my groin, left side. went back to doc 1st wk and he sort of blew me off. pain sort of subsided back to what I considered normal post op pain. at about week 5 or 6 I'm not sure, we'll the pain came back with a vengeance. went back to the doc and he did an ultrasound and told me that now I had an ovarian cyst! seeing your tag line, I know you know what this is! I never had this before surgery tho. They told me that the cyst would shrink on its own, but now I think I'm ovulating again and I have the pain again. Not sure if you are having the same type of thing? the doctors seem not too worried about this! I can't believe that I've had a hyster, and now I have another new issue. Its supposed to be over. Isn't it???

I"m sorry your having trouble, if its weighing on your mind, call your doctor. After all, I think half of what we pain them is for peace of mind. So call, go see your doctor and get an answer.

good luck

Re: Uncertain if this is normal or if I need to be concern.

Did you keep your overies or cervic? If the pain is bad. See a dr just to make sure everything is ok. And you don't worry about it then. Hugs. Hope you get it sorted. And sorry I am not much help.
