Lifted heavy bag... spotting & vaginal pressure.

I'm 3 weeks post op yesterday after full hysterectomy abdominally. Finally, was allowed to get out!! 3 more weeks of taking it easy. Went to Target and did some shopping. Without thinking carried all the bags to car and at home carried all the bags from garage up flight of steps to kitchen. In total, they were pretty heavy. About an hour later I noticed very light vaginal bleeding and into today very light bleeding (sometimes no blood). Color is pink to light brown. From what I've read I shouldn't be concerned, however, today I have what I would say is vaginal pressure. Should I be concerned?? I haven't stayed in bed. I needed to visit my father in hospital, so I was on my feet for a bit. would appreciate any help.

I had the same thing happen to me. I didn't bleed at all after my surgery. It was when I started being more active that it started. I had the same pressure as well. My Dr said that as long as the bleeding didn't fill a pad in an hour, that it should be okay. The pressure did go away, but I had to not lift anything for a couple of days. I hope it gets better for you.

Re: Lifted heavy bag... spotting & vaginal pressure.

Hi there! It is normally around weeks 3-4 when we start feeling a bit more normal and may overdo it on activities. When there is spotting or aching, our bodies are telling us that we are still healing on the insides and for us to dial back the activity and take a rest break. It is key at this point to listen to what your body is telling you, since everything does look healed on the outsides.

Hang in there! Best wishes for your continued recovery!
