Watery discharge--what could this be?

Hello dear sisters,
I have a new and weird development on my way to myomectomy or hysterectomy land: On either side of my urethra, I have developed two tunnels, or holes. These holes, along with my vagina, are producing a watery discharge. what could this be? is this what is meant as a fistula? i have two fibroids that produce heavy bleeding and perhaps this watery discharge. (and also some bleeding between periods) i had a clear pap and endometrial biopsy in december, although i think since then my fibroids have grown.i have pelvic pain and now pain near my rectum.i'm 45. i'm going to see my gynecologist tomorrow. any ideas from you ladies? thank you and hugs to all.

Watery discharge--what could this be?

Hi JooJooHand

I'm sorry you are suffering with irregular bleeding and fibroids. My fibroids were small, but my bleeding & cramps were bad, so you have my sympathy.

Here’s a link about vesicovaginal fistulas This type of fistula is an abnormal tract from the bladder into the vagina. The link describes how these are diagnosed.

The two tunnels you describe near your urethra sound like you might be seeing the Skene’s glands – Which are normal parts of the female anatomy.
These are 2 very small mucous glands on each side of the urethral opening which deliver secretions either to the urethra or vagina. (Descriptions vary). These are normally neither seen nor felt, but close inspection may reveal these pinpoint openings. Other names for these are periurethral glands or paraurethral glands.

You’ll be able to find out for sure when you have your appointment tomorrow, but I wanted to share the possibility of this being what you’re seeing.

Good luck at your appointment. Remember that a second opinion is always a good idea when we’re making major decisions affecting our health. Let us know what you find out, okay?
