Jeans?
Hi Ladies, when can I wear jeans again? I stopped wearing jeans long before my surgery because of the huge fibroids I had and they enlarged my stomach big time!! I sometimes have the swelly belly but it comes and goes. It especially appears after a long day rather home or not and I have not been out that much since my surgery. I can tell its swelly belly and not fat. I will also be glad when its gone for good. When will it disappear?

Re: Jeans?
Hi there. I had my surgery one day after yours and I have been really missing wearing my jeans in the last week or so too! It was great reading your post because I have been having the same experience with the occasional swelly belly and discomfort in my old jeans. That's the amazing thing about this site - helps me realise I am not alone in this process!
I had really large fibroids for over a year before my surgery so I was forced to buy bigger jeans. I have found over the last few days, I have been able to wear those (since they are big in the waist), pulling them down on my hips. My belly is SO much smaller since the surgery.
My incision was vertical (about 8") so I find I have to cover that up with a sterile pad/gauze strip because the jeans tend to irritate it a bit more than my other pants (baggy yoga capris - saving my life post op!), but I have at least managed to wear jeans (albeit big ones) a couple of days out.
Hang in there! Denim is on its way.

Re: Jeans?
I wore jeans on Thurs and Fri. of last week---my big jeans from my former days of mensies.....I love saying that. Anyway you should be fine, you should try them on and walk around in them a bit before actually wearing them out somewhere. I did that and it seemed to help me. Hope this helps...

Re: Jeans?
I had my LAVH on July 7. My wedding anniversary was July 18th (11 days) and I wore my regular jeans out to dinner. They were snug, but not uncomfortable. I think it just depends on your incision and whether or not you have swelly belly. I agree, though. Wear them around the house for a bit before going out to make sure you are comfy.

Re: Jeans?
Isn't amazing the things we take for granted . . . I would not wear jeans or any pants that would sit near my navel for about three weeks after surgery. Now I wear my jeans all the time, but I have to make sure that I pull them up over my naval or down under my naval. I had daVinci surgery, so my belly button can easily bother me when something is over it.
