Post opt Appt. what to expect ?

I dont go for my post op until Nov. 4th . ok i was wondering for all of you that has been to your post opt. what all happens ? do they do a pep smear ? do they mash your tummy ? i have no clue and i'm a little nerves. also they haven't told me about my pathology report yet is that a good sign or do they always wait until post opt to tell you even if there is something wrong ?

Re: Post opt Appt. what to expect ?

Every doctor is different. I had a TLH and my doc had me go in for a 1 week post op check up. At that visit he looked at my swollen belly, asked if I had any questions, reviewed my restrictions, and went over my pathology report. He gave me a copy of it as well. My next post op appt. was at 6 weeks out and that is when I had a pelvic exam that didn't hurt in the least. It was literally over before I knew it.

If you have any other questions just ask.

Re: Post opt Appt. what to expect ?

I had my first post op at 4 weeks and all she did was look at my small incisions and reviewed my path reports and my restrictions. At my 6 week appointment she did her first internal and it didn't hurt at all. I was discharged for full actvities but no lifting over 25 pounds for 2 more weeks. I am now 7 mohnths post op and feel great.

Re: Post opt Appt. what to expect ?

I just asked my doctor to be gentle (usually he is not) & it was fine. He did an internal exam & just checked everything. You should be fine.
