What did you enjoy eating once you were home from the hospital after hysterectomy?

6 days and counting. . . Taking care of some last minute chores that need to be complete before surgery but I'm stumped. I've made and froze food for my kids and my DH but looking at these casseroles makes me think I'm probably not going to be up for them when I get home. Was there certain food that was your go to for a few days when you got home?

Popsicles, activia yogurt and jello
were my favorites the first few days.

Yogart, fruit, simple stuff. I ate frequent small meals. Soup was ok.

Soup, cottage cheese with fruit, yogurt, toast. Light foods are best for a few days.

Fruit and cheese. Iced tea. Veggies and dip. pretty much what I like all the time lol. In a few days I started cooking a bit, easy stuff like steak and sauteed veggies or chicken in wine sauce over noodles.

I didn't bother making and freezing casseroles, my kids and I both hate them.

I ate a lot of applesauce, fruit, soups, etc. I am eating normally now though often smaller amounts. Tonight at dinner was the first time that I actually ate a normal adult portion of food.

Your appitite will be very slim. Usually from all the meds. Eat very light small meals. Yogurt is very good. Jello, soups, vegies. Nothing heavy.I decided not to eat breads or pastas because
of wanting to go easy on my bowels. So not to be constipated. Just easy light foods as much as possible. Salads and lots of fruit. Plenty liquids. Juice and teas.

I haven't had my surgery yet..but I plan on stocking up on applesauce, yogurt, jello, soups, fruits ,things to make salads and other light foods before I do.

Oh, and can't forget about stocking up on things like gasx, metamucil and other things to help aid in getting the bowels moving.
