didn't pass pre-op

Thanks all for the vote's of confidence

I am functioning as if the surgery will happen on schedule--although having to pass this final exam has taken the fun out of the planning and preparations.

Thinking back--the pre-op doctor almost didn't send me to cardio. but stated because it was major surgery that it was probably best to error on the side of caution so to speak. She did tell me that I could take my synthroid the morning of the surgery with just a tiny sip of water--which was a relief to know I could have it. Secondly when I had conference with the cardio he was telling me what I could and could not do prior to surgery so even he assume's it will happen. I have everything ready and set to go once given the all clear. I stopped all my supplements and only taking tylenol for arthritis pain.

What really convinces me that surgery will happen is that IF the docs thought I had a serious problem that I would have heard from the gyno's office for a later surgery date. Economically speaking they would be losing money by not filling my surgery slot!!

Anyway I will now something for sure later after tuesday. Just going with the flow for now!! Again thanks a million all!!

hi midwestcare

I'm scheduled for surgery 4/12 and I went to cardioligist today and am scheduled to have a stress test done the week before my surgery. He told me he could handle the rest by phone so my surgery wouldn't be delayed. I also have a mitral valve leak to contend with. My prayers are with you. researshnut

Midwest! Sorry I wasn't here for you (I can't go on the internet that often).. Glad it is looking up a bit. I agree, better to have the exasperation of having the surgery date up in the air, rather than go into surgery with a problem. But I would be losing my mind right now, it is hard enough to have it 6 days away, if I thought there was a chance it wasn't going to happen I would start the surgery on myself. Hang in there this WILL work out in the end.

AAAAAAAAAAH Thank you Ispy. Yep six days.

I will be honkerblonked like a mug if something is wrong with the ole ticker------I feel I have the heart of an athlete but we will see. I have never noticed any of the signs and symptoms of heart trouble. Anyway if there is a problem and no surgery I will retreat to my bed in utter depression..........then have to go for a second opinion and start the mess all over again.

But to be honest--I have prayed over it and ask the good lord above to lift it off my shoulders and whatever will happen is what should happen--the end
