To Keep or not to keep

I couldn't keep my ovaries due to recurring cysts so have gone straight in to surgical menopause.

We are having problems getting my HRT right so it hasn't been a great deal of fun so far.

If I had the choice, and one or the other had been healthy, I would have kept it in a heart beat.

Wow!!!

Thank you all so much for the advise and caring about the decision I make. I'm trying to read up on saving the one ovary. I'm just running out of places to look to research.

I hate to have to make this decision.

Once again - please keep your suggestion coming. This is really helping me.

To Keep or not to keep

It's good you're checking into this. I was determined to keep mine and did. I didn't have problems with mine and no family history of ovarian cancer. My doctor discussed removing them as an option, however, I felt as long as they were healthy (and they were) I wanted to keep them. I'm 48 and close to menopause but didn't want to go through it right now. Also, I reasearched this as much as possible and many articles that I found supported keeping them if possible . Best wishes !
