I am scheduled for my surgery 2-4-04. Everything is coming out!
I keep second guessing myself if my pain is that bad. I've debated this for over 8 months. But as many of you know when it hurts it so controls your life. Everyone says I'll feel like a new woman and be able to do all the things I haven't felt up to for so long. Please keep me in your prayers for quick recovery and no complications. Thanks for hearing me!

Hi Krisi42

Get a second or third opinion if you have not already.

Also it is really important to address your feelings of doubt. Do not listen to other people about how you will feel - nobody knows that. Some women do feel like new, others don't.

Don't base your decision on this - listen closely to yourself and go with that. It doesn't sound like yours is life threatening so you do have time and it sounds like you are really not sure.

Please listen to yourself and not other women and also research as much as you can, look at the negatives also. Everything is a trade off and you will trade something off, unfortunately you don't know what that is.

Good luck and I am here if you want to talk.

Hi Kristi42 -

In adddition to fibroids and ovarian cysts, I had a reason besides to have my SAH, but once it was done, I noticed almost immediately the difference internally - much less pressure in the pelvic area. I also had not realized just how much pain I was in before surgery, but figured it out when I found my self saying, "Gee, this doesn't hurt so much" the day after surgery. Was confused until I realized I really HAD been in alot of pain beforehand and had just habituated to it. Since recovering fully, I have had NONE of the pain in the areas that had ached pre-op. A REALLY NICE FEELING!!

Best of luck to you - may your surgery and recovery be easy and without complications.

I am sorry to hear that your are having to have surgery. I am 3 days post op right now. I had second thoughts right up to the end. I am only 24 years old, so I am very young to be having this done. I had a TVH for adenomyosis. I am already glad that I had the surgery. Granted i am still recovering but I can tell you I am already starting to feel better. Now I am not telling you to have surgery, I am just saying that for me it was the best thing to do. Best Wishes to you.
