Infected Laproscopy Incision Site?

How do you tell? My surgery was July 19th so I would think it's pretty unlikely for it to be infected now, but I swear it looks redder than it did yesterday. There is a bit of a skin tag so my doctor had me putting polysporin on it...going to continue that, but just wondering how you tell if it's infected?

And if it is looking redder, is it something that can wait a day or two to see if the Polysporin does the trick?

Re: Infected Laproscopy Incision Site?

my signs of infection were....hard, warm, extremely tender area, nwe stinging and pulling sensations, overall fatigue and feeling bad (after starting to feel a bit better), as well as nasty looking and smelling drainage.....fever can be an indicator too, but I did not have a fever......

I had a TAH, but had 3 spots that got infected and popped at 2 weeks and then 3 weeks post op....

Re: Infected Laproscopy Incision Site?

Thank you. Mine is just the tiny belly button incision, I was sitting way more than normal yesterday because of circumstance (I've been trying to do more alternating between sitting/standing) so I'm HOPING the redness is just from that...I will watch it carefully though obviously.
