I'm 12 days post-op from a DVH, retained one ovary. I took six weeks off work on the advice from my doctor. If you can, take the extra time. You can always go back earlier or part time, if your body allows it.

It's not that you'll be in pain the whole time. It's just that you will be tired from small things. I'm 46 and was active before this, but even a shower tires me out now. I'm taking very short walks, and return home and need to rest. I find when my stress level rises, it completely exhausts me. And so far, I'm not dealing with surgical menopause symptoms (I guess that ovary is working), which I think would make recovery even more difficult.

I am doing Davinci (less than a week out) and am hoping 3 weeks to go back will be enough.. no way my doc would have cleared me 1 week- he won't clear me to drive until 2
