I wish you all well and hope we all have our energy by Christmas!!!!
Unfortunately, around the holidays we feel like we need to entertain others and be our "Pre-surgery" selfs. Please try to rest... there is only one chance to heal properly... When I had my surgery, my family wanted to come in from out-of-state to visit... Luckily, they listened when I asked them not to come... Rest is the one thing you need to be able to do right now and with company, you don't feel like you are able to just lay down when you want to.
The funny thing about all of this is how quickly you can tire.
But it does get much better. At the 6 wk mark, I went back to work but after 8 hrs on my feet, I immediately came home for a nap. That lasted about 3 months.

So tired!

I think inactivity makes me more tired, it was like that even before my surgery and exercise always gave me more energy. Maybe try getting up and walking around just a little more and see if that helps. But be careful not to overdo it. If something doesn't feel right, listen to your body.

So tired!

I am glad to see I am not the only one that feels this way. I begin to worry maybe something is wrong. I feel good and at that point probally overdue and then I am down for a day or two following. My family is understanding but i feel like a burden. I want my life back!

So tired!

I know I pushed myself too hard. At one week post op, I walked a mile. At two weeks, I walked 2 1/2 miles...it felt sooooo good to get outside; the weather has been diabolical since I got out of the hospital, so I walked and walked on the few days when the sun shone. But the next day, I could scarcely move! I felt fatigue like I had never felt it before! But I didn't care because those 2 1/2 miles did more for my spirit than all the painkillers in the world!

At just short of 4 weeks, I still get tired easily, but I don't care. It's part of it, and I'd rather be tired than bleeding! It's temporary. Time flies so quickly, and I know that all I have to do is be a little patient, and before I know it, I'll have more energy.

It's true, though...inactivity itself makes you tired. Oh, those days when the weather was awful and I was stuck inside make me soooo tired. And it made me depressed, too. A bit of exercise really helps. On the days I couldn't go out, I'd put on my MP3 player and danced around a little bit. I bet I was quite a sight...hmmmm.

You'll get it back! And don't let yourself feel like a burden. You deserve adequate recovery time just like anyone else.

So tired!

Hi all!
I had a TAH on Nov 2006, and on 12/10/2008 had a RSO, due to a huge cyst of 10 cm. I am so tired... it is worst than with the TAH, even though I have no pain but feel horrible!
I have severe headaches, bowel problems (that drives me nuts!) , hot flashes and feel so depressed!
Tomorrow will start walking, try to do a little shopping with my DD and let´s see if this improve! Hope so!
I am in a very bad mood...

mcpor - sorry you are having a rough time. I think the holiday season makes everything worse - not the holiday but all the extra stress that goes with it - shopping, wrapping, etc. Be good to yourself and take it one day at a time. It will get better.
